When Bottine, a kitten with bent paws and an unbreakable spirit, arrived at Chatons Orphelins Montreal, she and her siblings were in search of a brighter future. “Bottine”—meaning “boot” in French—was born with unique physical traits. Her front paws and one back paw curve inward due to underdeveloped radius bones, as shown in her X-rays. But these challenges haven’t held her back; from day one, Bottine was determined to live life to the fullest.
They took in a kitten needing extra care. Now, they watch her enjoy life like other cats but in her own unique way.
Finding Comfort and Companionship
Once in her foster home, Bottine blossomed. She found joy in people’s attention, using her front legs to pull herself forward in a distinctive gait that charmed everyone she met. Her condition doesn’t cause her any pain, and she moves around effortlessly.
Bottine quickly became a snuggle enthusiast, cozying up in the crook of her foster mom’s neck, napping on shoulders, and curling up in hooded sweatshirts. “She loves spending time with us, playing, and exploring,” said a caregiver. “Bottine is a social butterfly—she adores humans, cats, dogs, and even bunnies!”
